THIRTY-FOUR (PART 2)

1 Nov

The previous post was password-safeguarded because it was my private celebration of my husband’s birthday (since a few of you asked…).

This year, Phillip’s birthday happened to be on a Wednesday, which is our Bible Study night at the Young Adults. In an unexpected moment of ‘thinking-ahead’, I remembered to buy muffins to share for our table. And sweet Candice also ordered one of the best milk tart I ever eaten. Thank you so much Candice for doing something so thoughtful, it meant a lot to Phillip. And thank you to Facebook for reminding us of all those birthdays we wished we would remember!

Phil even got spoiled with a public ‘happy birthday’ song. If you’ve ever wanted to see Phillip self-aware, self-conscious and uncomfortable, that was your moment 🙂 but it was very sweet.

These are pics taken on the night.

Wednesday evening felt quite intimate and ‘rich in relationships’ if that makes sense. I felt a real sense of community and love. it was good…

And this is Candice – I love Candice – She has a bubbliness about her that puts you in a good mood when you’re with her. She’s fun and distractive (yes, I mean she distracts people… it’s almost like being at school with her!) to have in a group. She’s easy to tease and she has a big heart! Did I say that I love Candice? … Anyway, thank you again for the lovely milk tart…

On the next day, Thursday, we had a small and intimate dinner with a few of Phillip’s friends. I forgot to take pictures (!!!) but we had a great time!

I’m just very happy for Phillip and grateful to God that he had a relaxed time and felt special and loved for his 34th birthday.
