Le lac de St Cassien

4 Jul

The lake of St Cassien is one of our favourite outings when we go to France. It’s only 20 minutes away and it’s free (that is after you’ve paid 2 euros 40 to drive for 11 kms on the highway!). The only noise you’ll hear are the cigales and the occasional ‘pedalos’ (pedal boats) that come nearby. In our case, you’ll also hear a mix of laughing and screaming at times, coming with our noisy tribe!

We go early and settle for the day with a picnic basket. We swim, we lie down, we eat, we play and we start the cycle again… Lea said ‘it’s the best day of all her life – which makes me wonder what we did for the other 6 years of her life… The kids and Phil probably spent most of the day in the water, I spent it sitting around and taking beautiful pictures. We also played a little bit of secret agent game in the bushes, armed with water pistols – well, the kids played a run-and-chase-and-shoot game but for me, it was a Sydney Bristow game, all right! And if you don’t know who Sydney Bristow is, then I can’t help you 🙂

But being slightly out of the topic here, I’ll just post pictures…

Wow! Amazing photos! Seriously! So wish we could be there too.

Just came back from a great time in Onrus. The kids were actually swimming in the lagoon too. We’ve had some berg wind days so it’s been great weather. Got Justin Moat staying with us this weekend so I’m running around tyring to find bedding and out white sheets taht haev mysteriously disappeared. Maybe they went to that place where socks go one at a time from each pair…
